WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A COACH MY SPORT CLASS
Our Motor Skills and Drills program is a structured and progressive program working on fine and gross motor skills development. For preschool children this development is key for writing, reading, focus and concentration in the classroom or home studies. The program helps the children gain control of muscle groups in the neck, shoulders and core develop stability. Developmental progression starts with gross motor skills and large movements eventually moving to fine motor skills and finger control.
The Coach My Sport programme, is a well-structured, progressive programme, working on key elements with our trained coaches encouraging the children to focus on a specific or drill.
Each motor skill or drill is explained and demonstrated by our coaches, the children then work on that skill or drill.
1) Meet, greet children and parents. Complete the register.
2) Warm up activity to get the children moving, looking forward to the session and be focused.
3) We will work on 4-5 activities involving our key elements these are age-specific and relate to the different sports we coach.
There will be an opportunity to have a refreshment break between activities. The final activity will ensure they children go home on a high after the session.
4) After the final activity there is a presentation of the Player of the Week Award (POW) and our stickers.
At the end of each lesson, a player who has demonstrated good listening skills and has tried their best is presented with the POW Award.
The coaches drum their hands with the children before announcing the POW and the rest of the group are encouraged to congratulate the winner by clapping.
We do keep a record of who is awarded the POW and they are rotated on a weekly basis.
The Award is super for the children to aspire and brings the group together at the end of the session
